Special Council Meeting

That Council move in-camera in accordance with Procedure By-law # 7462-18, Closed Meeting Policy G 040, and the Municipal Act, 2001, Section 239 (2)(d) labour relations or employee negotiations, and (c) a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board, and, (i) a trade secret or scientific, technical, commercial, financial or labour relations information, supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board, which, if disclosed, could reasonably be expected to prejudice significantly the competitive position or interfere significantly with the contractual or other negotiations of a person.

That Council rise from the closed portion of the meeting.

That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute a two-year lease, with an option to extend for two (2) additional five (5)-year terms, with 1000648764 Ontario Inc. (operating as Bar Down Gastropub) for the restaurant space at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre, subject to terms outlined in Report FS 26-23 and terms satisfactory to the Commissioners of Community Services, Financial Services/Treasurer, and Legal and Enforcement Services/Town Solicitor; and, That the Commissioners of Community Services and Financial Services/Treasurer be authorized to execute an agreement with Bar Down Gastropub, to allow for the temporary use of the Town’s liquor licence while Bar Down Gastropub obtains a liquor licence in their name, subject to terms satisfactory to the Commissioner of Legal and Enforcement Services/Town Solicitor.

That leave be granted to introduce a by-law and to dispense with the reading of the by-law by the Clerk to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Town of Whitby at its special meeting held on November 6, 2023 and the same be considered read and passed and that the Mayor and the Clerk sign the same and the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
