Special Council Meeting

Special Council Minutes March 21, 2016 - 6:00 PM 1. That the nomination of Regional Councillor Derrick Gleed be recommended to the Regional Municipality of Durham for appointment to the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA); and, 2. That the Town Clerk be directed to notify the Regional Clerk of the nomination.

1. That Report CLK 09-16 be received for information; 2. That Council proceed to fill the Deputy Mayor position in accordance with Option A as outlined in Section 5 of this report; and, 3. That the Clerk be directed to bring forward the necessary by-law to give effect thereto.

1. That Report CLK 10-16 of the Office of the Town Clerk be received for information; 2. That Council, in accordance with Subsection 263(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001, hereby fills the vacancy for the Office of North Ward One Councillor by authorizing the Town Clerk to bring forward the necessary by-laws to hold a by-election to fill the vacancy and to authorize the use of internet and telephone voting as the preferred voting method for the by-election to be held in June 2016; and, 3. That the Town Clerk be authorized to take the necessary actions to give effect thereto.

That leave be granted to introduce a by-law and to dispense with the reading of the by-law by the Clerk to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Town of Whitby at its special meeting held on March 21, 2016 and the same be considered read and passed and that the Mayor and the Clerk sign the same and the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
